A very collectable Negretti & Zambra RNLI fishermans barometer with early serial number c.1880. Zinc plated steel case, which is painted black and has wall fastenings to the back. Cast brass bezel to the front with quarter plate bevel edge glass viewing window and fine blued steel pointer and reading marker to the centre. Porcelain enamel dial with 'Fisherman's Aneroid Barometer' and bearing the makers name and serial number 1271. Rapid indicating aneroid movement in full working order. Originally sold to fishermen at a subsidized rate of 11 shillings 6d and regarded as ...a high quality instrument. Presented in excellent original condition and fully working. Measures 6" diameter x 2.5" deep. Stock number 42855.
