An original George VI mahogany cased single fusee GPO dial clock by Elliott, London, dated 1935. The polished mahogany case with moulded surround to the dial, matching back box with access door to the base and side. Cast brass bezel forming the dial door with quarter plate glass. The original painted 12" dial with Roman numerals and George VI insignia; original blued steel hands. The 8 day single fusee movement with original chain drive and anchor escapement, bears the makers name Elliott, London, serial number and 1935 date of manufacture. Originally used in a post office to inform the public... and staff off the time; a superior quality time piece. Presented in excellent original condition, fully serviced and working. Measures 15" diameter x 6" deep x 12" dial diameter. Stock number 38258.
