An outstanding quality, unusual and stylish brass framed Arts & Crafts stick stand with cast iron base c.1890. Narrow cast iron base with detailed decoration to the edges and scroll design castings to the sides of the uprights, plus removable drip tray to the centre. Tubular brass uprights with knuckles to the centre and finials to the ends, plus a tubular cross stretcher to the upper half with stylised flower head scrolls set to either side. Four brass rings hanging from the rail to hold the sticks or umbrellas in position. Square reeded top rail sat above with finials t...o the ends complementing the finials to the uprights. Patent 1669 to the front and rear, designed for sitting against a wall or for free standing with matching decoration to both sides. Measures overall 21.5" wide x 39.5" high and 19" wide x 7" deep at the base. Stock number 42350.
