Outstanding George III Chippendale Mahogany Chest of Drawers
An outstanding quality George III solid figured mahogany Chippendale period chest of drawers with original brassware and polish c.1760. Solid figured mahogany top with moulded edge and deep blind fretwork band below, which is to the front and sides of the chest. Two over three drawer formation, each with figured timbers, cock beaded edges and original brass fittings along with complementing escutcheons. The drawers flanked by reeded quarter columns, inset at the bases with chequered stringing and sat on blind fretwork mounts. Moulded plinth to the base with original ogee bracket feet below.... The drawer interiors lined with oak, each with the original steel lock. Figured solid mahogany sides and original boarded back. Presented in superb untouched original condition with a rich colour and patina.
