An outstanding quality late George III period figured mahogany inlaid tea caddy with wonderful original fitted interior c.1810. Oblong form with slightly tapering sides and caddy style hinged top, the lid and sides banded with chequered fruitwood and ebony, small bun feet to the base. The hinged lid opening to reveal a superb original interior with two removable caddies, hinged top to each and inlays to match the exterior. Recess to the centre retaining the original cut glass blending bowl in perfect condition; matching decorative inlays to the inside of the lid. Presented in superb or...iginal condition condition with excellent colour and polish, working lock, key and mother of pearl caddy spoon. Measures 12.5" wide x 6.5" deep x 6.5" high.
