An outstanding quality Victorian Edinburgh silver mug with a band of seven different animals and hand chased decoration, hallmarked Edinburgh 1883. The silver vessel with flared foot and slightly flared rim, superbly decorated with three bands of embossed and engraved decoration below the rim, with a complementing three bands of decoration the the base. The centre of the mug decorated with seven panels each depicting a different animal, including ram, dog, lion, elephant, camel, stag and pig. Angular cast silver handle set to the side. Bears the retailers name Marsh...all & Sons, Edinburgh to the base along with clear hallmarks. A very collectable piece of Edinburgh silver, presented in immaculate crisp condition. Measures 3" diameter x 4" wide including handle x 3.75" high. Stock number 41379.
