A superb pair of cast bronze Marly horses with original patina c.1880. The original Marly horses were sculpted in marble by Coustou for King Louis XV in 1739. The pair are excellent quality, each depicting a rearing horse with flying mane, with the horse being restrained by their groom. Mounted on the original sculpted bronze bases. Each with original rich patina with no damage or repairs. Very heavy quality. Each measures 14" wide at base x 5" deep x 16" high. Stock number 38460.
