A matching pair of early Victorian rosewood framed miniature pen and ink portraits in superb original condition c.1840. The two portraits depicting a lady and gent in costume of the period, both superbly worked on parchment and drawn in pen and ink with watercolour highlights. Each portrait sat in the original broad rosewood frames, with the frames angled to give a cushion effect. Gilt slips to the edge of the paintings, which are set behind the original glass. Boarded backs with original frames tables and original gilt brass hanging loops to the tops.
