A matching pair of William IV mahogany hall chairs with original hand painted Lion family crests to the backs c.1835. The shaped backs with moulded decoration and rolled over carved relief to the top edge. The centres with raised panels, each with the original hand painted family crest in the form of a lion. The solid timber seat with serpentine edges and moulded outer edges. Apron below with turned and carved acanthus leaf design legs set to the front, splayed legs to the rear. The rear of the chair with recess to aid carrying. Superb quality with original colour and polish, very sturdy an...d useable. Measures 15.5" wide x 16" deep x 37.5" high to top of the back x 17.5" seat height. Stock number 38424.
