A Persian pure wool 'Zanjan' rug from Western area of Persia in superb unworn condition and cleaned ready for use c.1930. The close hand knotted pile with a diamond shaped motif to the centre in a soft red and blue ground, which is surrounded by a soft red band with complementing geometric and floral decoration. Dark and navy blue ground infills to the corners complete the central section of the rug. Soft red broad border to the rug edge with complementing geometric repeat pattern in tones of fawn, soft blue and terracotta to complement the... centre of the rug. Superb quality and condition with no ware or stains, presented in newly cleaned condition ready for use. Measures 81" long x 48" wide. Stock number 42918.
