Persian Pure Wool Rug
A Persian pure wool rug from the North West Heriz area of Persia in superb unworn condition and cleaned ready for use c.1930. The close hand knotted pile with an octagonal shaped motif to the centre in a blue and champagne cream background, which is surrounded by a diamond shaped medallion with a soft red ground. The medallion is surrounded by a deep aubergine ground with burgundy red infills to the corners. Mix of geometric, floral and animal decoration throughout with a shallow boarder to the rug edge with a champagne cream background. Superb qualit...y and condition with no ware or stains, presented in newly cleaned condition ready for use. Measures 63" long x 39.5" wide. Stock number 42916.
