A George III period primitive West Country Windsor chair with ash seat c.1790. Bent wood ash and elm back with matching bent wood arms flaring outwards. Railed comb back with ring turned supports at the front edge of the arms; the joints showing through on the top of the arms. Turned front legs with original full length feet supported by a H stretcher and simple turned legs to the rear. Hand cut figured elm seat with moulded surface. Lovely colour and rich polish, this Windsor chair is presented in superb original condition. Measures 25" wide x 24" deep x ...39" high to top chair back x 15.5" seat height. Stock number 43162.
