Rare 19th Century Eugene Bourdon Metallic Barometer

A rare 19th Century dished bronze cased Bourdon metallic barometer with reverse painted scale to the glass.c.1870. Polished bronze dished case with hanging loop to the top. Visible Bourdon metallic movement in an immaculate case. The glazed view window reverse painted with the scale and centre reading marker. Presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine and full working order. * Eugene Bourdon(1808- 84) designed and made the first aneroid movement. Working by a curved inverted tube to move the reading pointer. Measures 5.5" diameter x 2.5" deep. Stock number 35797.
