A rare and unusual Edwardian period antique solid silver book cover, hallmarked London 1910. Decorative embossed and fretted classical scroll work design with a plain boarder wrapping round to form an aperture to hold the book. Double hinged with curved spine for the book, decorative engraved clasp in good working order. Bears the makers mark for sought after maker, William Comyns. Superb condition. Measures 5.5" high x 3.75" wide (including catch) x 1.5" deep at binding edge. Book shown in image as an example of fitting only. Stock No. 34059.
