A Rare Late 17th Century brass lantern clock by sought after maker, John Ebsworth of London*(w.1657-99). Verge escapement to the bell striking movement with alarm. Rare centre verge pendulum. Silvered engraved chapter ring and beautifully engraved centre. Fretwork decoration to the top with the original bell. Sat on the original hook and spikes. A fine example by this sought after maker. Full working order. Very petit size, measures 6.5" x 7"deep x 15"high. Stock no.30189. * John Ebsworth, apprentice through the clock maker's company to Richard Ames. Master of the clock makers company himself... in 1697. One of the more prolific maker's of lantern clocks. Known for his centre verge pendulums.
