A Rare & Unusual Victorian sterling silver 'Campaign' thermometer, engraved cylindrical case with sliding door to the front, hanging loop to the top and air holes to the base. Bone scale with original mercury action thermometer reading up to 120 f ; presumably for when the original owner went over seas to hotter climates ! The case marked `Sterling` to the top, with makers initials WHW for William Harrison Walter. c.1880. Mint condition. Measures 6" high including hanging loop. x 1" diameter. Stock number 31124.
