An immaculate Regency period mother of pearl inlaid rosewood two compartment tea caddy c.1830. The figured rosewood veneered caddy with chamfered edges to the top and panel to the centre with beaded trim set around the edge. The sides slightly tapering with matching rosewood, plus ring drop handles to the sides and small bun feet to the base. The sides strung with mother of pearl, which complements the lid with mother of pearl stringing and floral inlays. The caddy lid opening to reveal a two compartment interior with individual lids to the top of each tea compartment. Original red velvet l...ining to the interior of the lid.
