A superb early Victorian silver gilt table top vinaigrette by sought after maker Sampson Mordan, hallmarked London 1866. Engraved decoration to the lid and all sides, the corners chamfered, original lightly gilded finish. Scalloped edge to the front of the lid for aid in opening. Polished black agate base. Opens to reveal a gilt lined interior with fretted and engraved hinged internal cover. Bears the makers mark for Sampson Mordan. Immaculate condition. Measures 1.25" wide x 0.75 deep x 0.7" high.
