A matching set of four George V period solid silver owl menu holders with amber glass eyes by collected maker Sampson Mordan, hallmarked Chester 1929. Each holder with circular base and superbly detailed sitting owl sat above with engraved finish replicating the feathers, the eyes made from opaque amber glass with black centres. The rear of each with a silver upright to slip the menu in, clear and matching hallmarks to each along with the makers mark for highly regarded and collected silversmiths Sampson Mordan, specialist in fine quality novelty items. Sat in the original leather cloth pre...sentation case with silk and velvet lined interior, presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine. Case measures 7" long x 2.5" deep x 4.5" high.
