An unusual and large Victorian solid silver vesta case and whistle combination, hallmarked Chester 1888. Semi oval form with the wider end forming a vesta case, which has a hinged snap opening lid with a ribbed finish forming the match striker. The other end tapering to form a mouth piece, with cut out to the top forming a whistle. Bears the makers mark for Chester silversmith William Neale along with clear hallmarks. Superbly made and presented in immaculate fully working unused condition.
