A small proportioned George I style walnut escritoire with superb fitted interior and fold down mirror c.1890.  Book matched figured walnut veneers to the top and front with herringbone banding throughout. Moulded cornice below the surface with shallow drawer, fall front top section and three graduated drawers below. Moulded plinth to the base with small bracket feet below. The fall front opening and folding down to form a writing surface supported by brass stays. Superb original fitted serpentine interior with cupboard to the centre, pigeon holes to the sides, small drawers plus a pull out section to the top of the interior opening to reveal a fold down mirror. Original brass fittings, working lock and key to the fall front and presented in superb condition with a rich colour and polish.
