A rare George I period oak single seat fireside settle in untouched original condition c.1720. Shaped sides forming a small wing running down to form an arm rest with cut out to the base forming the foot. The thick hand cut and formed back is slightly dished with arched top rail sat above, the matching hand cut seat with adzed finish. The back and seat secured through the sides with pegs. Base rail and base stretcher below the seat. Totally original throughout with no alterations or restoration, wonderful colour and original rich patination. A rare and small proportioned... country piece presented in original condition. Very sturdy and useable item. Measures 24" wide x 15" maximum depth x 42" high to top of chair back x 16.5" seat height. Stock number 38085.
