A stylish early Victorian burr walnut circular work table with gadrooned work basket and complementing pedestal c.1840. Burr veneered circular lid with moulded edge sat over a matching circular work compartment with burr veneers and gadrooned decoration to the lower section. Complementing tappering barley twist pedestal below with petal design mounts to the base. The tripod foot with angular moulded pad feet, complimenting finial to the underside. The hinged lid lifting to reveal an original green silk lined interior with pockets to the edges, storage area to the centre and pull out wool sp...ools to the centre. Superb quality and presented in excellent original condition with a rich colour and polish. Makes an ideal lamp or occasional table.
