A Superb 17th Century oak six plank coffer with original patina and carved decoration to the front c.1670. Six plank form joined by stiles to the corners forming the feet, pegged joints throughout. Original carved band of lunettes to the front and owners initials 'M R ' carved above. Original brass heart shaped escutcheon plate, probably a marriage coffer. Hand forged iron hinges to the interior with old dark green painted interior. Superb deep colour and original patina. Measures 47" wide x 18.5" deep x 21" high.
