A superb Ashworths of Hanley ironstone dinner serving set in coloured willow design c.1875. Comprising of a large soup tureen with lid, saucer and matching ladle. Two vegetable tureens with matching lids, one sauce tureen and a set of three graduated meat platters. All transfer printed in willow design and over painted tones of terracotta, greens and ochre. Each piece bears the makers mark for Ashworth Brothers Hanley, Staffordshire, which was formed in 1862. An impressive set in excellent useable condition. Largest meat platter measures 19" wide x 15.5" deep. Soup tureen measures 14" ...wide x 10.5" deep x 10.5" high and vegetable tureens measure 11.5" wide x 9.5" deep x 5.5" high. Stock number 43068.
