A superb Charles I period oak Wainscot chair with original carving and patina c.1640. The panelled back with moulded frame and carved crest rail to the top. The panel with carved arch and stylised floral decoration typical of the Leeds area. The arms with well worn chip carved decoration sat on turned supports. Original planked seats pegged to the moulded seat rails; turned legs supported by base stretchers. Excellent rich patina and colour, very sturdy and useable. Measures 21,5" wide x 18.5" deep x 42.5" high to top of the back x 17.5" seat height. Stock number CS126.
