A superb quality and unusual Edwardian brass inlaid mantel clock in the form of a cello, fully restored and working c.1900. The solid mahogany case fashioned in the form of a cello with superb detail throughout; brass details plus wood stringing to the front forming the strings and matching decorative stringing to the outer edge. Sat on a moulded plinth with small brass bun feet below. The Paris made movement with platform escapement sat behind a convex porcelain dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. The dial sat behind bevelled edge convex glass, which is set in a ...polished brass surround. Presented in immaculate condition with a rich colour and polish and the movement fully overhauled and working. Measures 5" wide x 3.5" deep x 14" high. Stock number 41933.
