A fine George I period burr yew cased 8 day longcase clock by William Harris of Tonbridge C.1720. The small proportioned original case with burr yew book matched veneers throughout. Blind fretwork pediment to the hood with pilasters to the sides forming part of the glazed door. Slim trunk with long beaded edge door, lentical set to the lower half. Original base and plinth foot. The 8 day movement with count wheel striking and anchor escapement, engraved brass and silvered dial with date aperture and ring turned winding holes. William Harris was known to be working between 1684 and 1725. This s...mall proportioned example in very original condition with a superb patina and fully overhauled original movement.
