A Superb George II period oak cased 8 Day longcase clock.c.1740. Made by John Redshaw of Newcastle(under Lyme).Brass and silvered engraved centre dial with date aperture and seconds count. Ringed winders and gilt spandrels to the corners. Strikes on a bell to the hour. Slim proportioned case with beaded arched top case door and attached pillars to the moulded cornice hood. Superb colour and patina. Stands 84"high. Full working order. *John Redshaw working 1712-60.
