A Superb George III figured oak 8 Day longcase clock.c.1770. Brass and silvered engraved dial with an 'axe' rolling moon to the centre. Strikes on a bell to the hour. Fine figured case with reeded corinthum columns to the moulded cornice hood. Japanned panel to the top. Shaped top to the case door and canted corners to the base. Standing on bracket feet. Made by John Barlow of Oldham*. Stands 82"high. Full working order. * Barlow family of clockmakers working 1750-88.
