A superb George III period inlaid mahogany stick barometer with engraved silvered scale C.1810. Book matched feathered veneers to the case with chequered stringing. Turned cistern cover to the base. Architectural pediment to the top with pineapple finial, glazed door covering the silvered scale with thermometer set to the side. Bears the makers name Wiceceo Gobby. Original mercury action movement in full working order. Superb condition with a deep shine. Measures 38" long x 4.5" maximum width x 3.5" deep at top x 1" deep in centre. Stock number 34653.
