A superb large George I period oak refectory table with wonderful colour seating 10-12 people c.1720. The substantial top formed from the planks with cleated ends. Sat over a carved top rail with matching rails to the top, turned and carved legs set to the corners with pegged joints. Supporting H bases stretcher to the foot. The ends of the top overlapping to allow seating at the end, seats 4 to 5 on each side. Superb rich colour and excellent polish, very sturdy and useable. Measures 8' 6" long x 36.5" wide x 29" high.
