Superb Mid Victorian Jewellery Box with Original Fitted Interior
A superb quality mid Victorian coromandel jewellery box with brass stringing and original fitted interior c.1875. The oblong box with brass edges strung and complementing lock escutcheon, has a domed top lid, which includes an engraved cartouche. The hinged lid opening to reveal an outstanding original fitted interior lined with green silk and velvet, in addition to leather trimming. Two lift out trays to the interior with the top tray including a fitment for rings, pendants and brooches. The lower tray for watches or chains, which when removed reveals an additional compartment in the box b...ase for larger items. Superb quality throughout with engraved gilded lock plate and hinges. Presented in excellent original condition with a rich patina and an excellent original clean interior.
