A fine quality Edwardian solid silver and crocodile skin cased table clock with porcelain dial and 8 day French movement, in fully serviced and working order, hallmarked Birmingham 1907. The case with cushion effect silver front, circular aperture for the dial to the centre; the silver returning around the sides to meet the crocodile skin case work with hinged opening door to the rear. 8 day French movement with platform escapement which is sat behind an immaculate porcelain dial with Arabic numerals; decorative blued steel hands. Glazed quarter plate bevelled edge glass sat over the dial w...hich is mounted in the silver front. The rear door opening by catch release to reveal an original green velvet lined interior. The movement with matching silver dust cover which can be removed to access the movement for winding and time keeping adjustment. Bears the makers mark for Birmingham silversmiths and noted manufacturers of travelling and novelty clocks Douglas Clock Co Ltd. Presented in outstanding original condition with a rich patina and immaculate silverware. Dial measures 3.5" diameter.
