A superb Royal Doulton Lambeth ware oil lamp by Eliza Simmance with Aesthetic movement brass mounts and original etched glass shade c.1885. Royal Doulon foot, urn shaped body and removable lamp reservoi with floral stylised decoration by highly regarded designer and artist Eliza Simmance. Gilt brass collar between the foot and the body with twin gilt brass handles mounted either side of the body in the Aesthetic movement style. The lamp reservoir removable from the body with gilt brass cradle sat behind. Original twin wick burner by Hinks with wick adjuster to one side and snuffer leaver to... the other. Original embossed and acid etched shade and funnel sat to the top. Bears the makers impression for Royal Doultons Lambeth factory along with the artists monogram for Doultons artist and designer Eliza Simmance. An outstanding example presented in perfect condition with the original water gilt finish to the brassware. Diameter quoted is at the foot.
