A superior quality late Victorian walnut cased barograph with bevelled glasses and chart drawer by R & J Beck, London c.1900. The solid walnut case work with moulded edges to the bevelled edge glass cover and moulded edge to the platform. Chart drawer below with two internal sections to store new and recorded charts, small pad feet to the base. The 8 day movement set on a brass platform with brass frame above supporting the bellows and reading arm, remote nib adjuster and ink bottle holder complete with bottle. The movement fully serviced and working. Bears the makers label f...or R & J Beck, 68, Cornhill, London, highly regarded barometer and instrument makers (working at this address 1867 - 1900). Presented in excellent condition with a rich colour and patina to the case, fully serviced and working. Measures 14" wide x 8.5" deep x 8.25" high. Stock number 39684.
