Unusual Doulton Lambeth Oil Lamp and Shade
An unusual Victorian Doulton Lambeth ware squat design oil lamp with salt and oxide glaze c.1885. The bulbous squat reservoir sat on three claw feet. The top of the reservoir with domed section supporting the brass collar with Hink's Duplex burner and gallery. The base decorated with scribes scroll design decoration in blues, browns and mustard tones with rich salt and oxide glazes. Original terracotta coloured acid etched shade and period funnel sat to the top. Bears the Doulton Lambeth ware factory impressions to the base along with potters and artists initials.
