An unusual Edwardian planished silver tobacco and cheroot box by highly regarded maker William Comyns, hallmarked London 1902. The silver box with planished finish to all surfaces, deep rounded sides and slightly domed top and underside. The top with inset hinged lid, blank cartouche to the centre and shaped flange to the front edge to aid opening. The lid opening to reveal a gilt lined interior with original securing strap to the lid to hold the cheroots and storage space below for the tobacco. Bears the makers mark for highly regarded silversmiths William Comyns along with clear hallmarks... to all sections. Presented in excellent perfect condition.
