Unusual Silver Vesta Case with Cheroot Cutter
An unusual Victorian solid silver vesta case with cheroot cutter to the lid and ribbed finish, hallmarked Birmingham 1897. The solid silver case with broad ribbed finish running diagonally continually around the case; snap closing lid to the top and match striker to the base. The lid with cheroot cutter to the front corner of the lid, which is operated by a spring loaded blade with pop out button to the rear corner of the lid. Spring action lid which opens to reveal a gilt lined interior. Bears the makers mark for Birmingham silversmith Henry Atkins along with clear hallmarks to all section...s, and patent number to the interior. Superbly made and presented in immaculate condition.
