Unusual Victorian Desktop Thermometer

A turned bone desktop thermometer with original mercury action thermometer c.1880. The decorative turned and carved base sat on an ebony plinth. Tapering column supporting the thermometer with engraved scale and original mercury action thermometer. Bears the makers name to the rear C.A. Canti, 80 High Holborn, London. Button finial to the top. Sat under the original removeable glass dome in full working order and excellent condition. A great piece for any room setting. Measures 6.5" high x 2.25" diameter at base.
