An unusual Victorian horn and silver spoon with whistle to the tip of the handle c.1885. Hand formed in horn with oval bowl and simple handle. Silver shield with initials engraved to the stem of the handle and silver tipped end forming a whistle. Possibly a medicine spoon for a child who would be allowed to blow the whistle after taking the dose. No hallmarks but tested as silver, an unusual item presented in immaculate condition with working whistle. Measures 7" long x 1.25" wide at the bowl. Stock number 42537.
