A superior quality Victorian mahogany cased 8 day single fusse wall clock by highly regarded maker Thomas Russell & Sons, fully serviced and working c.1885. The mahogany case with moulded surround to the dial, and matching back box with access doors to the side and base. The original painted 14" dial with Roman numerals, the makers name and blued steel hands; brass bezel to the hinged glazed door sat over the dial. Single fusse movement with wire drive, and anchor escapement. Thomas Russell was regarded as one of Liverpool`s best makers and produced high quality clocks and chronometers;... they held the Royal warrant for Queen Victoria. This example presented in superb original condition with a rich patina to the case and is fully serviced and working, and sold with 12 months guarantee.
