Victorian Amboyna and Mother of Pearl Inlaid Glove Box
A quality Victorian amboyna veneered glove box with ebony and mother of pearl banded edges and original lined interior c.1875. The oblong box with high quality amboyna veneers to all sides, the edges of the box chamfered at an angle and banded with ebony and mother of pearl decoration. Complementing inlaid cartouche to the middle of the lid and diamond shaped mother of pearl lock escutcheon to the front. The hinged lid opening to reveal a clean lacqured white ash and silk lined interior. Suitable for a variety of uses, and presented in excellent original condition with a rich colour and pat...ina.
