Victorian Art Nouveau Brass Coal Scuttle
A stylish Art Nouveau solid brass coal scuttle with embossed decoration c.1890. The tall scuttle tapering inwards with keyed seem to the rear and embossed decoration in the Art Nouveau style to the front, and an angled top rim, which forms a lip to the front edge. Long brass loop handle for carrying to the top, held in place by cast brass fittings to the sides, plus small cast handle to the rear to aid use when loading the coal. Superbly made in heavy gauge brass and presented in immaculate condition ready for use. Dimensions quoted are with carrying handle down.
