A Victorian signed bronze of an Irish Setter and hare by Moigniez with superb original patina c.1890. Superbly detailed with an Irish Setter pointing to the left and a hare hiding in the undergrowth on the surface of the oval base. Signed to the front right. Originally exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in 1855 and at the Salon in 1859. This example is presented in superb condition with a good original patina, no damage or repairs. Measures 12" long x 5" deep at the base x 13.5" maximum length. Stock number BA133.
