An elegant Victorian solid mahogany banjo barometer with aneroid movement and porcelain dial in superb fully working condition c.1885. The slim proportioned solid mahogany case with carved leaf design motif to the top and complementing motif to the base. Porcelain dial with decorative script weather predictions sat around the outer edge and the makers name to the centre 'Key Lens Opticians, Chancery Lane, London'. The dial sat behind a quarter plate bevelled edge glass mounted in a polished brass bezel and reading marker to the centre. Matching scale to the thermometer box sa...t above with original mercury action thermometer. Presented in excellent original condition with a rich colour and polish, fully serviced and working.
