A Victorian polished oak aneroid banjo barometer made by T Armstrong and Bros, Manchester c.1880. Porcelain dial with lettering marking the weather predictions, along with the maker's name, Armstrong and Bros of 88-90 Deansgate, Manchester (w.1875-1900). The porcelain dial sat behind a bevelled edge glass, mounted in a polished brass bezel with a centre reading marker. Matching porcelain thermometer scale above with mercury action thermometer. Carved decoration to the solid oak casing with superb patina and rich colour. Fully overhauled movement, presented in immaculate ...condition fully serviced and working. Measure 37" long x 11" maximum width x 3" deep. Stock number 40618.
