Victorian Carved Oak Table Top Barometer with Crescent Thermometer
A superbly carved Victorian oak cased table top aneroid barometer with acorn design decoration and crescent thermometer to the dial, fully serviced and working c.1885. The golden figured oak case with carved acorn and leaf decoration giving a three dimensional effect; deep flared moulded plinth to the base. The porcelain dial with weather predictions sat around the outer edge and original mercury action crescent thermometer set to the lower half, bears the retailers name Frost, Kendal. Polished brass bezel with inset bevelled edge glass, reading marker set to the centre. Pres...ented in immaculate condition fully serviced and working. Measures 12" wide x 3" deep at the base x 8.75" high. Stock number 41686.
