A Victorian mahogany stick barometer with engraved silvered dial by highly regarded maker Orchard of Kensington, London; in full working order c.1880. The solid mahogany case with moulded edge arched top, slim simple trunk and turned bulbous cistern cover to the base. Silvered scale with twin vernier marker and the original large mercury action barometer tube to the centre of the scale and visible to the trunk. Superb quality and condition, the case with a rich colour and original patina, the movement fully serviced and working. Measures 35" long x 5" maximum width ...x 3.5" wide at the trunk x 3" maximum depth at cistern cover and 1" depth at trunk. Stock number 42720.
