A difficult to find set of Victorian solid walnut metamorphic library steps closing to form a side chair c.1875. Substantial solid dark walnut construction, which when closed forms a chair with solid seat and decorative back rest. The chair back folding over and opening to form a solid and useable set of library or occasional steps; four steps tall. Superbly constructed and presented in excellent original condition with a rich colour and polish. Measures closed in chair form 15" wide x 16.5" deep x 36" high to top of the back x 20" seat height. Measures open as steps 15" wide x 19..." deep x 36" high to top step. Stock number 43288.
